About Us
Pura Vida Flower Farm is a small, family-owned farm in Vero Beach, FL specializing in organic cut flowers. We are a part of the Farmer Veteran Coalition as well as certified Homegrown by Heroes growers. We have deep family roots in local agriculture, specifically the citrus-industry in Indian River County but our personal growing journey started by attempting to grow organic veggies for ourselves and then our 3 young kids. We quickly learned the benefit of flowers to protect, strengthen, and even flavor our veggies – and our love for sharing our flourishing blooms followed shortly after. We are passionate about growing our flowers organically and regeneratively in order to steward our land for generations. We are committed to continue learning, growing, educating, and sharing. We consider it such an honor to offer our bounty to our local community.
Organic & Regenerative Practices
We have a small worm farm & fertilize our flowers with our worm castings. We heavily compost each season, mulch our beds, rotate crops, and utilize Korean natural farming practices.
Stewarding for the Next Generation
We farm organically so that our fields and arrangements are safe for little hands, feet, and paws. We invest in farming the way we do so that the generation that comes after us will continue to have healthy, fertile soil to grow in.
Looking to the Future
Our backgrounds in the medical field & engineering equipped us to be heavy researchers & experimenters. We are always looking for new varieties & new ways to meet the community's need & to better the experience of receiving farm fresh flowers.
The Grind of Flower Farming
Its easy for some to romanticize the idea of flower farming. While it is an absolutely beautiful thing to get to do, there is no shortage of long nights and hard work before the sun rises & after it sets.
Toddlers in Tow
You can frequently find us with a toddler (or 2..or 3) strapped to our backs while we mow or running barefoot through the fields. They can name more varieties than the average adult & we consider them master pruners! There are so many lessons embedded in farming and we love learning alongside them.
Strategically Placed Pollinator Patches
We stagger placement of pollinator patches around the farm to attract a plethora of beneficial bugs, bees, and butterflies. We love a healthy ecosystem!
